Best Christmas Eve EVER

Today, while I was at work, a random customer that I have never seen or spoken to before walked up to me while I was ringing someone else up, told me to have a merry Christmas and handed me a card. I sort of awkwardly said thank you because the situation was a little weird. Later , I opened the card (which has a super cure picture of a sleeping kitten holding a candy cane on it) and out fell $100!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OH MY GOD. I was really shocked at first, and then really really happy.

While I was looking for sources for my comp paper, I found an article called 'Get Behind Me, Seitan" which I thought was super hilarious. Seitan is a big hunk of wheat gluten pretty much, and Get Behind Me, Satan is the name of a White Stripes Album. HAHA!

A Clockwork Orange

Now that I have finally figured out how to use netflix watch instantly on my laptop, I have been watching oodles of movies.




A Clockwork Orange had been on my 'to see' list for quite a while, so I decided to start with that. On my first try, I only got about 45 minutes in before I had to turn it off, and it took me a few days to muster up the will to finish it. On my second try, I made it all the way through, but I have to say, I so didn't love it. I know it's a classic, but I just didn't dig the senseless violence and rape, it's just not my bag. Also, I really hope the future won't be like it is in this movie, it's so so depressing. Ugh.

Don't get me wrong, it wasn't terrible, but it just wasn't awesome either. I dunno, maybe I should read the book.......

For Mardi Gras, the (very rich) mom of one of the girls I work with overnighted us a King Cake from a bakery in New Orleans. Not only was it one of the prettiest cakes I have ever seen (it was totally airbrushed purple and iridescent):

But it was extremely delicious as well. Its like a cream cheese danish, but a cake. Yummmmmmmmy.

I Hate My Toaster Oven

My morning routine is (and has been for a few months now) that I wake up and eat a Bay's English Muffin with strawberry jam on it. Usually I keep the toaster oven set on the 2 setting (out of 10), but it always comes out a little underdone, so today I bumped the setting up to 3. After I put the english muffin in the toaster, I went and sat down and totally forgot about it. That is, until I smelled the smoke. I ran into the kitchen and saw the two halves sitting in the open toaster oven, completely blackened and one on fire. I then had to soak them in water to put out the smoldering bits and to make sure they wouldn't burst into flame.

Apparently, my options are a little underdone, or totally inedible.

So I am now eating a bowl of Coco Pops and being angry.

So about a month ago, I offered to photoshop a picture of Lydia and Spock, but while I was searching for a suitable picture of Spock, I stumbled a weird trend thing.
